Have you taken Skinny Mini with Master Instructor Elizabeth Tomkins? If not, you're missing out! To be honest, Elizabeth could probably teach without any music at all and her signature blend of grinning and growling would inspire you to push through grapevines, grounded abs, and liberties at the barre for the full hour. Luckily, she made this badass playlist for all of you to sweat it out to during Skinny Mini - enjoy!
TGIF, Lithers! This week we have a giveaway of the decadent Ekaterina Luxury Cream from Sabbatical Beauty. Did we mention 2 ounces retails for $175??
The cream is made of four types of caviar extract, three types of gold and white truffle extract. Caviar is well known for providing essential Omega three oils and has anti-aging properties. The gold in the Ekaterina cream comes in three different forms: colloidal gold (small, microscopic gold particles suspended in distilled water), fermented gold (yeast that has been enriched with gold and then harvested), and real 24 karat gold that both tops the cream and is dispersed throughout the jar. The Ekaterina Cream is part of Sabbatical Beauty's limited edition Fall collection, CRISP.
For a chance to win, please comment which product from the CRISP collection looks most enticing to you. One winner will be chosen at random on Monday, so you have three days to enter. One entry per person. Thanks and good luck!
Sport your sport! Order your Lither muscle tank ($38) and Okay, But First Lithe jersey pullover ($65) here.
Pink, a pear-pineapple-ginger-grapefruit-beet cold-pressed juice, hits the studios this week. October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and one dollar from each juice sale will be donated to BreastHealth.org.
According to the team at BreastHealth.org, 50% of breast cancers could be prevented with different lifestyle choices, even if you start at age 50. They also stress that Breast Health is Women's Health: the things you are already doing for your overall wellness like a healthy diet, exercise, and not smoking also benefit your breasts. Basically, Lithe is like extra credit!
What brought you to Lithe in the first place? I’ve been Lithing since 2008. I was working out with a trainer and was bored with the gym, so I checked out Lithe after reading a review online. My first impression was that the workouts were tougher than I expected and the class variety was spot-on for hitting the perfect combination of cardio and sculpting throughout the week. I keep coming back for the challenging workouts (no easier more than eight years later!) and the community of women.
What motivates you to stay consistent with Lithing? Different life factors over the years, including staying fit through my pregnancies and then trying to get back to pre-baby fitness levels keep me consistent. Most recently, my monthly membership. It keeps me hitting my weekly and monthly goal for total classes, which inspires me to get enough sleep (and not drink too much wine on weeknights!) to get to the 6AM classes.
What do you do to de-stress on the weekends? Hanging with my daughters and husband and our awesome group of friends, going to the local farmers' market, trips to Brigantine, and organizing my life. Starting the week with my life in order is the best de-stresser I know.
What is the most rewarding aspect of Lithe to you? The results. And committing (mostly) consistently over the past eight years.
If you were a Lithe move, which would you be and why? Side planks – and right now, I’m loving the side balance work in Thigh High. Those moves take strength and balance, which are motivating factors in my life.
What do your friends and/or family think you do when you're at the studio? My daughters say that I go to the Lithe to get strong. I agree! They love to side plank and plyos.
What is the first concert you went to? Cindy Lauper. My sister and I wore side ponies and leg warmers. It’s one of my favorite pics ever!
If you were stranded on a desert island, what are the three products you'd need to survive? My electric toothbrush, sunscreen (I’d have third degree burns in a matter of minutes without it), and my iPhone, with a solar charger and service, of course.
